Hello 🌸

Hello everybody, we are Hinano and Sora ✨

Thank you for your interest in IDENTIFY's activities!

Based on our overseas experience, we started this project because we wanted to increase the opportunities for young Japanese people to think about social issues.

To provide a platform to learn and talk about social issues related to the SDGs every week,

And I would like to aim to promote SDGs through information dissemination on SNS etc.

From those who do not have much knowledge about SDGs to those who have studied with some interest, I would like to have a fun and deep learning session every time, so please feel free to join us ☺️

Hello~!

I'm Sora,

Since I was little, I had the opportunity to using English and was dreaming of living abroad someday, so when I was 16, I joined the AFS exchange program and went to Belgium (Dutch speaking area) for about 11 months.

Why Belgium? Or Dutch? The reason I chose Belgium is because the EU headquarters is in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. Also Belgium is located in the middle of Europe, I thought that it would be the best place to learn about various issues which many European countries faced.

At a high school in Belgium, I majored in human science, so I learned a lot things about “people”. I also learned many social issues. Lot of students around me were very interested in social issues and even had a sense of crisis that they had to change about it.

I had experiences to talk with refugee children and knew about what they experienced. That experience changed my life and future vision.  I came up with becoming a member of UNHCR ( United Nations High Commission for Refugees) to provide an environment where refugee children can have big dreams and many hopes.

As I became aware of various inequality issues, I started knowing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which consist of the idea of "no one left behind." I thought that the achievement of the SDGs would lead to the realization of peaceful world, and I wanted to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, so I participated in the UN Ambassador's project and launched this project with my partner Hinano. Through this project, I would like many people to think about the future of the world and grow together with you as the next generation of global leaders!

Hello everyone:)

I'm Hina, a third year high school student in Australia. In Japan, I'm from the Zushi / Hayama area.

Since I was a child, I have been blessed with opportunities to come into contact with foreign cultures and the environment because of my parents' work, and I have always dreamed of "living abroad" or "working abroad". After a two-week overseas summer camp at elementary and junior high school, I experienced a year of exchange study abroad in New York, USA from the summer of my first year of high school.

Compared to a short-term summer camp, the exchange study abroad was a different dimension in terms of preparedness and difficulty, but it is full of excitement, excitement, and inspiration by actively challenging new environments that I had never tried before. I was able to spend another year. What was particularly impressive was the American student-centered & free education system, and the high awareness of young people's personal problems.

I want to keep myself in an environment full of such challenges and excitement, and from the summer of 2019 to the present, I am attending a local high school in Australia. Here, too, I am inspired by the independence of the students and the richness of the Australian people's thoughts on "happiness" and "life."

Meanwhile, in the self-restraint life of Corona Whirlpool, I came to think, "I want to make use of what I learned overseas to improve Japan." Together with Sora, who I met while working as a UN Ambassador to the Global Youth, we were able to create an opportunity for us Japanese students to take a step toward solving SDGs and other social issues as they are familiar to us. I would be happy if.

By the way ...

Our activity name, "IDENTIFY", has the meaning of recognizing the problems and issues that surround us (= Identify). We believe that thinking "that?" Or "funny?" In daily life is not taken as "natural", but by focusing on it as a problem, it leads to action toward a solution.

The meeting of the two of us ...

It was the United Nations Ambassador for Global Youth project in 2020 .

The United Nations Ambassador for Global Youth is a project to develop the United Nations Ambassadors for Boys and Girls, which is sponsored by JCI JAPAN every year.

Usually, there is overseas training, but this year, all activities were held online due to the influence of the coronavirus.

This year, the main theme was "Safe water and toilets for SDGs Goal 6 all over the world", and we interacted with overseas ambassadors through zoom and finally gave a presentation.

This `` IDENTIFY'' was launched as an extension of the activities of the UN Ambassador! !!
